Celebrating local trails
A thoroughly enjoyable event celebrating the local trails and landscapes. Very well organised, with a great setup and vibe at race HQ, with beer and pizza a welcome sight at the finish line! The event team and volunteers were fantastic!
GPS is needed, medal needs to be amended
Potential t-shirt added to entry
A gem of a race. Wonderfully organised and friendly 50 mile trail race over excellent terrain. One of my favourite races.
When non-trail runners go trail…
Loved it, very challenging but ultimately very worth it. A good route with amazing views and Wessenden Head checkpoint was fully stocked with all manner of goodies to keep you going, a thoroughly welcome sight!
And I liked mapping the course before the event. There were a few places that could have done with a sign, but I’d mostly figured the whole route before we set off (highly recommend doing this!)
I’d definitely recommend this race. Very friendly, very supportive, very challenging and all to support local charities ✅
Beautiful, well-organised, and challenging but runnable route
Could do with an extra waymarker here and there, but overall a well-organised race with some beautiful scenery along the way. Highly recommend!
great small event
Really enjoyable run through lovely scenery
Flags in first wood or marshall would be really good. Other than that a very nice runnable course over mixed trails. Would definitely do again
Really nice, easy 10km race
Great event, brilliant value for money. A few more marshals could be handy, perhaps race on a Sunday to pickup a few regular volunteers from nearby Parkruns.
One or two more signs/better placed signs needed. Great food and drink at the end. Excellent venue. I think presetations will be better advertised as the event grows. As a great man once said "I'll be back".
Great run out into the countryside
More flags at the junctions please!
Friendly event with a community ethos
A good day out in area I'm not familiar with.
Really good quality glass trophies.
Possible improvements would be more flags in the wood section and at some 'caution runner' junctions,
Thank you to all the volunteers and for the hard work that's involved in putting on an event like this with such a range of distances. Every success for the future.
Fantastic event, so friendly & inclusive, beautiful route, great cause.
excellent event
Great day; well organised, friendly & a demanding but runnable course. Really well stocked check points, clearly signed route. Wots not to love?
Great first 50k
A great route with lots of stunning scenery and super friendly marshals at the start of the race and at the checkpoints. A huge thank you to all the volunteers!
My only comment would be that there was a lack of clear signage at the end of the race, and the map we were given was at such a scale you couldn’t see all the footpaths clearly. I took a couple of wrong turns and spoke with others who had gone the wrong way, especially at the end of the Wessenden Valley going up onto Deer Hill, and from Blackmoorfoot Res. Maybe put less signage at the start, where you have marshals directing people, and use this signage at the end where it’s more necessary.
This was a great scenic 50k however, and the generous cutoffs make it a good one for beginners.
Well organised, friendly event
Lovely route, that’s runnable with some way marking to help you get round. Good range of snacks and drinks at the feed stations with great volunteers. Love the fact there’s a range of distances on the day for all too.
Great race with beautiful scenery, needed a few more sign posts or Marshalls as it was easy to take the wrong direction at some points
Winners weren’t spoken to at the end to receive prizes
There was a posters all over the event centre with presentation times and also the DJ put several shout outs for the presentation.
Excellent day
lots of runners offloaded some of their mandatory kit . I chatted with 2 guys who both did this after registration.
One guy ran with no kit as he said he forgot it lol
Although its not the Olympics rules are rules
Cracking course
Great trail course, some navigation needed on some sections.
Great to see some of the open moor land was flagged which helps making navigation clearer.
Volunteer's was very helpful.
Beautiful
Very enjoyable
Very well organised and friendly event
